Prior to joining Meridian, Edward gained work experience with ING Direct FSB, the United States Federal Courts, and the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. Each experience gave Edward the knowledge of solving intricate complications arising in both the financial and legal realms. Edward received his Juris Doctorate from Drexel University specializing in Business and Entrepreneurial Law. Rockwell Grattan is one of the founders of Meridian. He is highly involved in advising and analyzing clients in strategies that will better serve their companies. As a founder, Rockwell seeks to provide clients with premier client services and establish long term relationships with the Meridian team.
Rockwell graduated from Duquesne University with a dual major of Finance and Investment Management. He worked for Merrill Lynch in their Municipal Bond department before going to work as a consultant/liaison for a development group in Pittsburgh. He is licensed in Pennsylvania for insurance and real estate.
Ed Grattan leads the Meridian team in deal sourcing, seeing the process through from inception to final negotiations and signing. He brings 35 years of business finance and consulting experience to Meridian, along with a history of notable transactions and a diverse clientele.
Much of this experience was derived from the time Ed spent as CEO of various waste management, construction and logistics companies. In this position, he successfully constructed a number of landfills, development projects and subsequent expansions. As part of this construction and sale process, Ed handled a wide variety of issues, parties and materials – becoming knowledgeable in the areas of environmental regulation, municipal solid waste, construction management, demolition and inter/intra-continental shipping and transportation. Importantly, this time also provided Ed firsthand exposure to the coal industry; while constructing landfills and other development sites, his company encountered numerous coal deposits, with their attendant challenges, and excavated accordingly. Since this time, Ed has turned his focus increasingly to brokering and consulting, while developing important working relationships with government officials at the State and Federal levels.
Michael Fratangelo brings a unique business background and a wealth of international experience to Meridian. His efforts are largely focused on Meridian’s business development and expansion in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region. Since 2011, Michael has spearheaded Meridian’s global construction and energy initiatives through his relationships with government officials and business leaders throughout the MENA region.
Prior to joining the Meridian team, Michael played professional basketball in Europe and the Middle East with UMF Tindastóll of Iceland and Al Arabi of Kuwait. In 2007, Michael co-founded DiverseCity Hoops, a non-profit program that strives to bring together youth of all backgrounds through athletics and education. He currently serves on the program’s board. Michael holds a Masters of Social Service degree from Bryn Mawr College, where he studied government and social policy. He is an honors graduate of Haverford College where he received a B.A. in Cultural Studies. Michael is a dual citizen of the United States and Italy.
